Project Hope For The Homeless Essay example - 2076 Words

Project Hope for the Homeless I work off and on. Mostly day work is all there is. Used to be a teacher. Id like to find a good job, but how? When youre on the street, youve got one set of clothes, two if youre lucky, and theyre always dirty. No place to shave, shower, clean up. And any job thats decent will ask for an address, phone number, a drivers license. Its hard to break out of the cycle and into focus. --Mark (a homeless person) Mark is just one of the estimated 1.2 -2 million people who experience homelessness each year, about 760,000 people are homeless each night (Homeless Youth). When we looked at these figures, it made us stop and think of how fortunate we are to have a home, clothing, food, and little things†¦show more content†¦We gave them the letter regardless of whether they donated or not. We started by going up and down the street of a middle class neighborhood. For the most part people werent overjoyed about donating food, but they didnt seem bothered by it either. We knocked on the door of one house and an elderly lady answered. Aimee said, Hello we are from Bemidji State University and we are collecting food for a local homeless shelter and we were wondering if you would like to donate anything? The lady looked at us and said, hold on, Ill be right back. We smiled and she left the doorway. A few seconds later she came back with a ten dollar bill. We had not expected to get any money and we think that showed in our faces. When she looked at us, she became worried and started questioning us about where her money would go to. We think that she believed that we were just going to pocket her money. We kept trying to reassure her that she could trust us and that if she was not sure about her donation she did not have to give it to us. One of us pointed out that our names were at the bottom of the sheet if she had any questions. We think the elderly lady really wanted to help the homeless but was concerned that the money would not get to them. As we continued on our mission to help the homeless, we approached a rich looking house. We rang the doorbell and a middle-aged man answered. When we asked if he would like to donate any food he smiled really big andShow MoreRelatedThe Homeless: Discarded Like Garbage1052 Words   |  5 Pagesmassive cities such as Los Angeles where Central City East, more commonly known as Skid Row, contains the largest amount of homeless persons within our country. The Questionnaire On Learning Styles Essay - 969 Words

The VARK questionnaire has 16 questions to help determine how an individual learns best. The VARK questionnaire was created by Neil D. Fleming (http://vark-learn.com/introduction-to-vark/) who was trying to figure out why some students that had the best teachers was unable to learn as much as they did from some teachers with questionable teaching skills. The VARK stands for the learning styles: V-visual, A-aural, R-reading/writing, and K-kinesthetic. The visual learner is a person that would be best taught by using some type of graphic form. The would use graphs or drawings or charts and learn by the results of a type of drawing. The aural learner is taught or best learn from listening and like to be informed by talking about what they are learning. The reading/writing learner is best taught by bullet points, and texts books. The kinesthetic learner is best taught by using all of the above teachings. They understand and learn by case studies and real life experiences. Environmental Ethics Business Sustainability †Assignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Environmental Ethics for Business Sustainability. Answer: Introduction: According to the information provided, Old Walka Water Station was first built in the period of 1882 to 1886 by the Public Works Department. At that time, the buildings main purpose was to provide safer water to area of Maitland, Newcastle, Cessnock and Morpeth. It was an alternative for the existing creeks, storage tanks, and boreholes. On the contrary, as the demand for water increased, a dam was constructed at Chichester. As a result, the Water Works station of Walka was put on standby and later closed in 1929. In 1951, the site was reopened as a power station instead (Assignment Centre 2017). However, in 1978, it got decommissioned. As much as most parts of the building are currently inaccessible by the public, the City Council of Maitland is using several sections of the Building for economic purposes. Such include weddings among other special events. It is worth noting that it is the beautiful surrounding of the building that attracts attention for reopening. The surrounding in cludes a wildlife reserve to offer benefits for educational and social events. This proposal report will outline the circumstances and processes of turning the old Water Works Station into a restaurant. Such is due to the fact that Northwest Business Group looks to start a business in Maitland. In this case, the restaurant is required to comprise of kitchens, dining areas, bars and other factors. Once the building is rehabilitated, the restaurant will be required to be able to host activities such as weddings, parties, conferences and social events. This activity will also provide a suitable management scheme suggestion towards the maintenance of the building as well as its facilities. The building in question is located 2kilometers in the North Western parts of Maitland. The building is accessed via Scobies Lane running off Okhampton road. However, there is another track that can be used. It runs from the adjacent Abattoir; west to the building. The track offers passage that is not flood prone (Bala 2017). The building is also located on a land that is formerly pastoral. At the time when the building was first erected, the area was swampy for orchards or crops to grow. However, the land was reengineered. Later in 1971, the land was sold to Maitland City Council which ensured that the land was free for grazing as well as marshalling the area. It is also important to note that the building was designed and constructed in phases. This was done by the Department of Public Work. Notably, the boiler and engine houses are designed in exhibition of the Victorian-Italian style. The brickwork used was polychrome, the windows profiled, and every proportion elegant (Harold 2013). The figure below shows the general history of the site of the building. It is worth noting that the growth took place in several phases. The very first definite attempts to open the site after its closer can be traced to. However, there was a Trust formed. This Trust was aimed at opening and restoring the Waterworks complex. In 1976, the complex was classified by National Trust (Morris 2013). Currently, the place is opened as a public reserve. The activities attracting audience include: Barbecues Picnics areas Playground Walking trails A 7 1/4 inch gauge railway. This operates only on Sundays. A reservoir Surrounding plant life with birds and other animals also available. Characteristics of Walka Water Works Building are: A pump house with a chimney Victorian Italianate architecture with ornate brickwork Huge water reservoir Filter beds and Settling tanks for purifying water Miniature Railway Problem Analysis Due to the fact that Northwest Business Group looks to start a business in Maitland, it is important to note that one of the vital components of the economy of Australia is tourism. Also, recognize the fact that in 2015 alone, about AUS 47.5 billion with regards to the GDP of the country was obtained from the tourism sector. In the whole of Australia, domestic tourism contributes what is perceived to be the largest percentage of tourisms direct GDP (Morris 2013). Since the number of visitors attracted to the site currently is large enough to accrue profits for the Business Group, marketing after the restructuring the site would be a no issue. Visitors have been reported to travel far and wide to enjoy the scenery provided. Also, one of the reasons as to why the sector of tourism in the country has realized large amount of income is because the government has invested so much in the industry. In our case, the facility to be erected will provide hotel services as well as accommodation. The intention, in this case, is to make use the exotic scenery of the environment around the site to develop a state of the art resort. However, the methods of administration and operation need to be modified to promote development as well as ensure that service delivery is perfect (Kerzner 2013). The analysis, in this case, is for the site identified as well as the elements located within the area of study contributing to the overall significance of this proposal. Some of the significance of the site identified will be discussed with regards to the building parts. The Water Works Complex: - It is the largest complex in the area. It is also one of the major water work complexes that are comprehensively intact. It also happens to be featuring one of the Victorian Industrial structures. Main Engine and Boiler Houses The structure of this houses are made from polochrome bricks which are well preserved and brought out as any other prestigious building within the country. The configuration of these parts of the building portrays the functional requirement and the technology used at that time. It is also important to note that the chimney reflects the technical requirements of the combustion process. Its mainly for the purpose of accommodating offices. Earlier on, the offices were for the Sewerage Board as well as the Hunter District Water. This is a structure erected for the purpose of water filtration. They are, however, still virtually intact. It is a representation of an example that is well preserved. However, the filter beds are expanded. Such was as a result of the increment of the number of people in need of water. The structure of the walls of the bed filters are from an off-form concrete reinforcement (PNMSOFT 2017). It is the buildings most vital facility. Basically, it is used to clean, collect, and re-use sand within the filter beds. However, one of these plants was demolished to have the parameter road constructed. The structure of the pits and pipes are the key elements of the treatment plant as was built. It is important to note that the reticulation system, as it is, is intact and unique as before. The road paths are made of concrete. The physical conditions of the structures Walka Waterworks remaining structures are in a condition that is resoundingly well with regards to their age, change history, as well as lack of maintenance. The main pumphouse, for instance, has its sandstone defective. The cement is cracking which renders a string course. The north elevation is also inactive and its structure cracking. The roofing sheet in this part is also very poor. Other conditions of the pumphouse include: Fully inaccessible basement Infestation by termites Availability of stains, rust and patches of lichen Minor damages to the surfaces of the bricks in specific locations Damage of the ground moisture to regions where the levels are raised. The structure of the roof is, however sound Having looked at the main pumphouse, it is important to assess the physical conditions of other structures. These are: Sandstone bases spalling Render areas have moulds and lichens Damage of the ground moisture to regions where the levels are raised. Tuck pointing eroded The sections roof is rusted while water penetrates through the brick-work Infestation by termites on the structures of the south wall Internal efflorescence in particular places No access to the basement The roof is rusted Removal of the cast iron pillars Brickwork is damaged Three beds are not visible enough Portions of some of the beds are destroyed to allow electronic commission usage. However, the tunnels and pits are intact even though they are not maintained The site is deteriorated Tenant and Council Requirements Each and every residential building in the site needs to comply with the building regulations outlined during the construction of the structure. Such policies apply to all buildings no matter them being leased or owner-occupied. However, it is common sense that with time, the condition of any particular building is likely to degrade. Buildings therefore need adequate maintenance. In case concerns arise that a particular building is not offering acceptable accommodation standard, the council needs to be advised. The officers from the council are needed to inspect the property to determine whether the same is safe to live in (PNMSOFT 2017). According to the Residential Tenancies Act of 1997, there are duties and rights that are set out for landlords, agents and tenants. For instance, each and every premise must be in a condition that is reasonably clean. Landlords need to ensure that at the time the tenant begins occupying such rental premises, the premises or rooms are vacant as well as in good shape (s65). In case the premises are not in sound shape, the tenant will not have to pay rent till the place is habitable. However, if the premise is habitable, it is the obligation of the tenant to ensure that the place is kept clean all times (s63). Other statements on duties and rights are: Each and every landlord is required to provide a copy on the Statement of Duties and Rights with regards to the provisions of the Consumer Affairs. The copy should be provided immediately the tenant occupies the rental premises (s66). If this duty is breached, a penalty is imposed of up to of up to 5 units. Landlords are required to provide contact information including their full names, addresses for service documents, and emergency phone numbers. In cases where agents act on behalf of landlords, it is the agents contact details that will be used. Also, a well outlined statement on the authorization of the agent to do urgent repairs is also provided. If this duty is breached, the agent is subjected to a penalty as well. The tenants have the rights to quiet enjoyment. In this case, landlords are not allowed to interfere or meddle in the affairs of the tenants while they are using the rental premises (s67). The premises must also be maintained by the landlord. By this, landlords are needed to ensure that the premises are in good shape at all times. Such include communal areas controlled by the landlord (s68). However, this rule is not applicable in instances where property damage is inflicted by the tenant. Regarding the water using appliances replacement, landlords should ensure that the water appliances they provide are repairable. Each and every appliance that is old should, however, be replaced with another appliance with an A rating at least (s69). Every landlord should ensure that he or she provides locks for the purpose of securing every external door and window within the rental area (s70). In case an agent or landlord fails to comply, tenants have the liberty to issue a notice of Breach of Duty (s208). In case the notice is not complied with, tenants have every right to seek compensations as well as a compliance order at the Administrative and Civil Tribunal (s209). Solution Development Having consulted the Northwest Business Group for the way forward, it is determined that the building in question will be renovated to meet the standards of modern restaurant. However, there are factors that have to be considered and rehabilitation carried out. Such include: Fully inaccessible basements Infestation by termites in most rooms Availability of stains, rust and patches of lichen in most rooms Minor damages to the surfaces of the bricks in specific locations Damage of the ground moisture to regions where the levels are raised. The structure of the roof is deteriorated in most sections. On the contrary, the buildings front face needs redesigning and reconstruction. It should be noted that the front faade is one of the architectural elements of this structure. Though the original materials for construction would be difficult to use, the artistic design must, however, be maintained. Such is to ensure that the building maintains its historical significance (PNMSOFT 2017). The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the faade as well as the rear portion should be done with regards to the requirements of the Standards for Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings as well as the Sustainability Guidelines. The feature defining characters for the building as well as the rehabilitation plan need to preserve the significant aspects of our site. According to the historic systems, the windows ought to be made of wood. They are also required to be double hung with a clear, single pane glazing. The windows will therefore be repaired and other aspects retained. Since the wood elements are much more deteriorated, the system will have to be replaced with another system of wood that is matching the existing one. In areas where the level of deterioration is too much to accrue replacement of particular features, new features are supposed to match the old design. Any missing features will then have to be substantiated through physical evidence and documentary. However the metal security bars are inappropriate and should be removed from the windows. There is, however, the need to have security screens but the contemporary style maintained with regards to the design standards (Portny 2013). The shell of the building should be an outline of the original historic structure. The rectangular form, mirroring the heights and pitching the roof style would ensure that the front faade is integrated into the building to be constructed anew. The south wall has to be a new construction which must also be adjacent to a two?story concrete and a property line. Such apartment should however be a little hidden from the public. According to the requirements, the faade has to be a new wall built with horizontal boards that are siding. Such is to ensure that the fire codes as well as health and safety standards are met (Portny 2013). Other aspects of rehabilitation include: Removing the basement obstructions to improve accessibility Working on the stains, rust and washing off patches of lichen Reconstructing the entire area to remove the particular damages Refurbishing the roofs using the latest designs Removing the moulds and lichens in the render areas Retaining the ground moisture in regions where the levels are raised. Refurbishing the tuck pointing Redesigning and refurbishing the sections roof that is rusted to ensure that water does not penetrates through the brick-work Refurbishing the structures of the south wall Reducing the internal efflorescence in particular places Improving access to the basement Refurbishing the rusted roof Rebuilding the cast iron pillars Rehabilitation of the brickwork is damaged Rehabilitating the three beds Maintaining the tunnels and pits that are still intact. Some of the typical activities in building management include daily domestic tasks. Such tasks are: Stair cleaning Regular maintenance Major repairs Emergency work. A Tenement Management Scheme is therefore developed to ensure that the defects in the building are removed through refurbishing the entire site (Szolnai 2017). In this case, regular inspection activities and prompt remedial actions are two ways that would be vital in ensuring that costs of major and minor repairs are reduced. When the remedial work is delayed, the problem is likely to get worse. Eventually, the cost of repair would be increased. In the provided table herein, activities to be done to maintain the building are well outlined. At one point or another, there are major works that must be carried out carried out on the site. It should, however be realized that professional advice from surveyors would be the best way to determine what exactly should be done to avoid unnecessary work. With regards to the Tenement Management Scheme it is necessary to: Carry out maintenance in a timely manner. Perform general inspections to determine whenever maintenance is required Leadership should be through a service pipe Ensure that the accommodation sections are of the building are maintained This proposal report has outlined the circumstances and processes of turning the old Water Works Station into a restaurant. The changes to be made are supported by the fact that Northwest Business Group looks to start a business in Maitland. In this case, the restaurant is required to comprise of a kitchens, dining areas, bars and other factors. Once the building is rehabilitated, the restaurant will be required to be able to host activities such as weddings, parties, conferences and social events. This activity has also provided a suitable management scheme suggestion towards the maintenance of the building as well as its facilities. The Tenement Management Scheme is, therefore, developed to ensure that the defects in the building are removed through refurbishing the entire site. The Realistic Hero Essays - English-language Films,

The Realistic Hero Tom Sawyer, the main character of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, written by Mark Twain, is an average boy who is bored with his civilized life and escapes these constraints by pulling pranks, and pulling other mischievous things. The character of Tom, in the most part, is presented as a realistic and convincing boy. He is kind and loving, but also cruel, stupid, and hypocritical of others at times, as well as, he shows maturation throught the story. The story of Tom Sawyer,as well as being about a realistic character, is a story that is intrusive to adults and children. Tom is shown throughout the story as a typical boy of his time and place. He has a loving, happy home, with his devoted Aunt Polly to care for him. He is mostly restricted by his home routine of prayers, meals, chores, bedtime, and things like that, but when his routine life gets to dull, he has the nearby river and woods, where he can go to escape. Though Tom is not " the model boy" of the village, he even hates the "model boy." He plays boyish pranks on Aunt Polly, Sid, his friends, and everyone in town. He steals, lies, plays hooky, fights, and goes swimming secretly, but he is a normal boy and this is what normal boys do at his age. Tom is a clever, imaginative boy who has a good knowledge about human nature and knows how to use it. He continually outwits his Aunt Polly, and also persuades other boys to do his work for him without them even knowing of his trickery. One example of this is in the whitewashing scene, when his Aunt Polly makes him whitewash the outside fence before he is allowed to play. He slyly conviences the first boy by saying "...I don't see why oughtn't like it. Does a boy get a chance to whitewash a fence everyday?" (21) With this cunning use of words he manipulates the boy to whitewash the fence, which leads to others also joining in to help. In the end, Tom has made a tidy profit as well as got the whitewashing done without actually doing it. As well as Tom being known as a strong boy, he also has fears. He is afraid, at various times in the book, of being harmed by Injun Joe, starving to death with Becky in the cave, of witchcraft, and of death during the thunderstorm when he is ill with the measles. Some of his fears are based on real dangers, such as with Injun Joe. Others are just simply fears in his mind. Partly by luck and partly by using his mind and courage, Tom is able to eventually triumph over his fears. Tom , who is usually a spirited guy, sometimes goes off by himself to be alone and think about his death. Ususally these dark moods only last a very short time, then he is back to his rowdy self. For example, after being rejected by Becky, he goes off into his comforting woods and thinks about ways to get back at her, and even thinks about running away. Though he gets into these moods occasionally, a quick visit from his friends he totally forgets his depressed mood, and resorts back to his spirited self. Although Tom likes to rebel against society and its restrictions, he is basically respectable. He is the nephew of a woman who is the soul of suitability and who is instilled him with these values. When Tom calculates his pranks and adventures in term's of society's reactions. At the end of the story, he even persuades his best friend Huck, who is an outcast in the town, to become "respectable" by telling him "Well, everybody does that way, Huck." (243) Tom also conviences Huck to "be respectable" by telling him he won't let him join his robber gang " if you ain't respectable." Also another aspect of Tom that is realistic is how he grows throught the story. Tom starts out acting childish and irresponsible and ends up acting more mature and responsible. The story of Muff Potter begins with Tom and Huck going to a graveyard to try

Views on plastic surgery essays

Views on plastic surgery essays A Sociological View on Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery The human desire to appear attractive is universal; its permeating throughout history and in all parts of the world. Both men and women have gone to great lengths to beautify themselves. Although the desire to be beautiful may well be universal, what is considered beautiful is not. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it depends on ones culture and socialization. The progress in plastic surgery, like in most of the medical discoveries, moved glacially for hundreds of years. It was not until the nineteenth and twentieth centuries that the specialty forged ahead both scientifically and within the medical establishment in both Europe and the United States. Because of the awful injuries it often inflicted on its participants, war was the driving force behind most plastic surgery developments during the late 1800s and early 1900s. In fact it was the war that catapulted plastic surgery into a new and higher realm. Cosmetic plastic surgery is performed in order to change ones appearance. For some, it may mean redesigning the bodys contour and shape, the elimination of wrinkles, or eliminating balding areas. Others may choose varicose vein treatment or breast augmentation. There are a number of cosmetic surgery procedures that men and women can choose from in order to create an image that makes them feel more confident and comfortable with their appearance. Although health insurance rarely covers the cost of cosmetic procedures, the number of individuals deciding to undergo cosmetic plastic surgery continues to grow. The top three cosmetic surgeries for 1999 included liposuction, breast augmentation, and eyelid surgery. About 500,000 women had one or more of these surgeries in 1999. This is a 26 percent increase from 1998. Further, it is not just women who are opting to enhance their appearance through surgery. Statistics show t...

Dinosaur Exhibits at the Royal Ontario Museum

Dinosaur Exhibits at the Royal Ontario Museum Name: Royal Ontario MuseumAddress: 100 Queens Park, Toronto, CanadaPhone Number: 416-586-8000Ticket Prices: $22 for adults, $19 for children age 15 to 17, $15 for children age 4 to 14Hours: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday; 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM Friday; 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM Saturday and Sunday About the Royal Ontario Museum The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto recently unveiled its brand-new James Louise Temerty Dinosaur Galleries, which features full-sized reproductions of over 20 dinosaurs, as well as avian and aquatic reptilesincluding a skeleton of Quetzalcoatlus (the largest pterosaur that ever lived) swooping down from the ceiling. Among the most popular specimens here are T. Rex and Deinonychus, as well as a huge Barosaurus and various hadrosaurs, such as Maiasaura and Parasaurolophus. The curators of the Royal Ontario Museum make sure to stay on top of the latest dinosaur discoveries: for example, this is currently the only place where you can see a specimen of Wendiceratops, a horned, frilled dinosaur announced to the world in 2015. This relatively pint-sized (only two tons or so) ceratopsian was discovered by a team including a noted Royal Ontario paleontologist, working with colleagues from across North America. If youre not sure a trip to Toronto is worth the expense and effort, you may want to check out the virtual tour offered on the museums website. Its not the same as seeing the dinosaurs up close, but it will at least give you a good idea whether you can while away an hour or so with your kids, before going to see other exhibits. The fossil collection of the Royal Ontario Museum doesnt begin and end with dinosaurs. A gallery devoted to Triassic life forms is scheduled to open in 2009, and visitors can currently see numerous fish and invertebrate fossils, as well as specimens of the dinosaurs successors in the The Age of Mammals exhibit. Other attractions include Continents Adrift, which examines the drifting landmasses of the Mesozoic Era, and the self-explanatory The Evolution of Birds.

Should or Should Not Doping Be Allowed in Sports Essay

Should or Should Not Doping Be Allowed in Sports - Essay Example On the other hand, the misuse of drugs is also detrimental to the health of competing athletes. In general doping devalues the integrity and image of sports. Doping has elicited vicious debate from both the medical and sporting aspect. While others question where the integrity of sport falls, when household personality in sport finds themselves in difficult places when discovered to have used performance enhancing drugs, others enjoy the use of performance enhancing drugs (Wiesing 168). In competitive sport, doping has been considered an unethical venture that does not emphasize the integrity of sports. Several high-profile athletes – men and women have had their career thrown to the doldrums after having been found guilty of doping or making a public statement on doping. On the other hand, proponents of doping claim that doping in sports is necessary especially for those superstars who feel that they need to remain on top of their game and they would want to do that at all costs. The essence is that they would not want to lose their fame in sports and for that reason, they resort to doping. They are role models, icons and revered names to their fans and that is what they fear losing (Eber 345). This paper looks at doping in both contexts as to whether it should be allowed or not in sports. It also gives relevant examples of athletes who have thrown away their integrity in sports after being discovered to have used doping substances. While doping is consider ed as a contrary action to fair play, there are several athletes who believe in fair play. Certain competitive athletes stress on the need for fair play, and they are considered conditional cooperators because are guided by the values and principles of fair play. In other words, they do not take drugs because they believe their competitors do not use them as well. The biggest problem, however, becomes coordination of their intentions that would wander and resort to using performance enhancing drugs in competitions (Devine 637). Doping has become a global problem because of many international sporting events world over. Most international sports associations guided by International Olympic Committee (IOC), have for a long time worked on ways of stopping the spread of doping, but they have met resistance. As expected, the introduction of testing, education programs and other medical treatment, would reduce the behavior. Unfortunately, the efforts have managed to bear little fruits bec ause undetectable and more powerful doping techniques have come up. There are several doping techniques

Art - Essay Example The point of view of the visual art argument is to bring out the symmetrical structural balance as per the balanced colors used for painting. Therefore, this abstract composition piece is meant to bring out aesthetic balance of nature as per the colors that have been used through visual composition. Sensational effect is a factor to the aspect of the artistic abstract composition. This is due to the notion that, the colors and lines used bring out a sensational feel of any space that is a factor of the environment. My visual argument is based on the colors that have been used, the lines and patterns used for bringing out the balance as perceived of nature. This is based on the colors that have been used by the artist for this abstract piece. I used pattern, line, recurring patterns and proximity as my compositional interpretation of the abstract due to the emphasis that they bring out on aesthetics appeal. The most persuasive elements include balance brought in symmetrical from. This has been enhanced by the balance of use of colors. The balance brings out the feel of nature whereby, everything is aligned and proportional thus enhancing nature. The composition incorporated the use of line and color to form a pattern. The changes that are evident through the composition of abstr act are that, the colors have been manipulated to suit aesthetic appeal. The compositional choices are mainly based on color, line and form. This is because of the pattern that has been brought out through the line and colors used. Persuasive elements used include proximity in terms of softness of the painting and organizational structure. I believe that the pattern that has emerged gives the abstract painting a different view of aesthetics and appeal in nature most individuals’ perception is that, nature should always have specific colors

Organisational Behaviour: The Personal Nature of Leadership Essay

The title of this paper inspires examination of leadership style within the corporate culture with regard to personal traits in relation to organisational behaviour. The old standard of a leader being born rather than made is under review here as many concepts come into play when discussing modern corporate leadership. Many would argue and research reflects (Goleman, D. , Boyatzis, R. , & McKee, A. 2001) leaders adjust style according to situations. A situation is just one influence affecting one’s leadership capabilities. The organisational culture brings into play a myriad of factors that affect leadership. Stogdill (1948/1974) built the foundation for modern leadership where creative thinking and flexibility become key because personality became central to understanding situations found in corporate culture. Stogdill writes â€Å"no personal characteristics are predictive of leadership seems to over-emphasise the situational and underestimate the personal nature of leadership† (p. 35—check your book for ref). Research into the history of leadership lends another view entirely. Such researchers of leadership and organisational behaviours as Boddy and Burns find early on the icon of leadership was based on an egalitarian view of the best â€Å"man† for the job. Stogdill found different views but related findings to behaviour. Now many years later, is the nature of leadership based in situations? Or is it based in one’s personal experience and choices in reacting to certain situations? I believe the face of corporate culture has changed because of certain factors present today in the business world. Today, gender, race and other demographic factors play a large role in management. How people interact and how these demographics influence the behaviour of the organisation needs to be examined because this makes the culture. In today’s business world because competition is fierce, anything innovative and flexible to opening up channels of creativity is seen as a positive. Organisational culture is born out of an organisation’s core values and beliefs in completing its objectives (Robbins 2001, p. 544). This can also be said of people as a culture within race, religion and creed. How an organisation takes external factors like an individual’s demographic can be a complex task. How people perceive his or her is directly influenced by his or her personal experiences and make-up. In this respect because of globalization and multiculturalism, an organisation needs to be flexible to outside influences within reason. This means than an organisational culture has the means of redefining itself as more people join. Of course the organisation must conscious that these factors are at work and this means sticking to the core values. In this respect, I must agree with Stogdill’s statement because the human experience, these demographics touched upon above, makes one’s personality and makes culture personal. It makes the act of leading based from one’s experience and therefore, very personal. One can see such proof within the literature but really one’s personal experience and how they use these traits builds character and influences many areas of organisational behaviour such as tools for motivation, team-building and creative thinking. Personal Nature of Leadership The personal connection begins at a fundamental level of human sociology where the use of story is central. Howard Gardner (1995) reflects, â€Å"the ultimate impact of the leader depends most significantly on the particular story that he or she relates or embodies, and the receptions to that story on the part of the audiences† (p. 14). By telling stories, allows for a certain level of openness or vulnerability on the part of the leader and makes them human. By opening the line of communication, gives the employee knowledge of their environment and develops trust. The leader’s role is to sell the idea of commitment within a culture. Odiorne (1987) suggests, â€Å"if employees know what is expected, and what help and resources are available, they can then be relied upon to govern their actions to achieve the commitments they have made† (p. 138). This sets the stage for goals and achieving high performance. The culture in turn feeds off this energy and excitement. Bennis (1989) writes: There are three reasons why leaders are important. First they are responsible for the effectiveness of organizations. Second, the change and upheaval of past years has left us with no place to hide. We need anchors in our lives as a guiding purpose. Third, there is a national concern about integrity of our institutions. Being mindful of own context is difficult for us. (p. 15-16) Managers with a keen understanding of leading represent these three key attributes and create a foundation from which to act. A leader must also display curiosity and have the guts to be daring. This requires someone to make a choice based upon his or her ability to risk take. They must be a dominant force within the team. Bennis (1989) reflects, there are two kinds of people â€Å"those who are paralyzed by fear, and those who are afraid but go ahead away. Life is not about limitation but options† (p. 185). A healthy culture inspires options and the innovations that grow out of creativity. Research discovered that leaders use different leadership styles for different situations because of emotional intelligence and its tie to strengths or weaknesses in personal traits. In the book Primal Leadership, authors David Goleman, Richard Boyatzis , and Annie McKee (2001) present their research on leadership styles within the organisational structure. The research discusses the relationship that these executives have with their emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the study of emotions and their impact upon the work environment. The research investigates the different leadership styles evident in most organisations today. Mainly, leaders were categorized as either having the visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting, or commanding leadership styles. Among these, only pacesetting and commanding are assessed to be less effective than the other leadership styles. Emotional Intelligence relies upon the fact the leader will be able to have a competent level of interaction with the employee by changing leadership styles and adapting to each unique situation throughout the time at work. It reflects successful leadership by allowing for complex relationships for team members by recognizing relationship building, capacity of visions and personal development. Emotional Intelligence for a leader means being able to read people, be read and allow for open dialogue. Research stresses the importance of the leader’s flexibility and capability to adapt to his or her environment. An effective leader will understand not only their environment and people but also understand the potential for impact upon that environment. By understanding this key element, an effective leader will know how to define the environment. This is important because employees look to management for guidance. The leader defines the boundaries for the team and created an atmosphere for building relationships and open communication. This in turn creates stronger teams. Team Building For managers who put his or her people first; they are more focused on nurturing and training. Research suggests leaders are more interested in mentoring and training their team rather than focusing on output of numbers or turn around time. This development in team building allows for â€Å"providing people opportunities to learn from their work rather than taking them away from their work to learn† (Hughes 2004, p. 4). A healthy culture inspires options and the innovations that grow out of creativity. Still one could not ignore times of fear. Management sometimes creates fear on purpose or misused it to work employees harder. This does not create positive outcomes but promoted conflict and an unstable team. It is clear for management to be successful; it must communicate its vision but also create positive reinforcement (See Figure 1. ). Once key members understand people’s needs, then action could be taken to improve management’s role. Only then would a leader be taken seriously. Recognizing positive traits in a team member built trust, integrity and also met an important need while building a team.

This was because of many reasons, namely: The Failure of the Munich Agreement, the policy of Lebensraum, the Invasion of Poland s plan of Isolationism, The Italian Campaigns, the attack on Pearl Harbour By 1938 Hitler had decided to begin his plan to add living space (Lebensraum) to Germany. His first target was Austria, as he himself was of Austrian birth Germany invaded. Two days later Austria was made a province of Germany. One month following, Hitler claimed that 99% of the Austrian people had voted in favour of Anschluss in the April plebiscite. These events angered the European nations, but once again, a policy of appeasement was adopted. The failure of the Munich Agreement (1938) stirred up even more problems in Europe. A Book on Writing for Novelists

A Book on Writing for Novelists A Book on Writing for Novelists A Book on Writing for Novelists By Maeve Maddox Before launching myself into the historical novel Ive been thinking about, I decided to read some books on writing before getting too far along. My luck was to pick up Sol Steins How to Grow A Novel. Some writing books are good for beginners, but some are not. I think that the writer who has completed a book length manuscript will get more out of the Stein book than one who is just getting started. I almost didnt read this book because of its title. As Ive mentioned elsewhere in DWT, the use of the transitive verb grow with a non-biological direct object produces a blackboard moment in me. Im glad that I didnt let this prejudice keep me from the trove of great advice to be found in this book. What hooked me was the subtitle: The Most Common Mistakes Writers Make and How to Overcome Them Stein knows what hes talking about. Hes a writer as well as an editor. He has written plays, poetry, and novels. The book is arranged in four sections of unequal length: The Responsibilities of the Writer The Responsibilities of the Publisher Envoi Practical Matters The first section is the meat of the book and discusses the expectations of the reader, the importance of conflict in every scene, and the development of plot, character, dialogue, and setting. Im not going to comment on every section. Theyre all useful, but I know that this is a book Ill read more than once. This time around I was most taken with what Stein says about conflict. Chapter Two poses the question Is Conflict A Necessity? This is how Stein answers it: Yes, conflict was and is a necessity, it is the essence of dramatic action. The engine of fiction is somebody wanting something and going out to get it. And if you let him get it right away, youre killing the storyWithoutopposition, fiction is a vehicle without an engine. What Ive taken away from this first reading of How to Grow a Novel is the importance of planning conflict into every scene before I take the time to write the scene. As I gear up to write my historical novel, Im taking the time to create a scene outline that I think will be more practical than any chapter outline Ive used for my previous novels. My new mantra is Conflict runs the engine. Each scene I sketch has a character who wants something and either gets it or doesnt get it by the end of the scene. When Ive got the first draft on paper, Ill go back to Steins book for help in revising it. You can find the book on Amazon.com Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Government and the Economy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Government and the Economy - Essay Example This is the foremost time of experiencing such an occurrence in more than four decades. The expenditure of the federal administration has been rising at a decidedly sluggish pace in the three years of the prevailing administration. Falling expenditures of regional and area administrations, which have equally shrunk in spending at an alarming rate, plummets the slow rise. The slow growth of federal spending along with the free-falling expenditure of regional administrations is a strong pointer at the economic and political situation in the country. These signs cannot pass unnoticed because failure to experience rise on government expenditure, more so during the initial period of a new administration, is not only rare but profoundly significant in the political and economic essence. The real GDP of government (both federal and regional) for the primary three months of 2012 is estimated to be 2 per cent less than 2009, when the new administration took the reigns of power. This means tha t the spending of the administration has experienced a fall ever since the forming of government in 2009 implying that certain factors have inhibited the outlay of funds by administrations, both central and local. Such a situation transpired in the US in the course of Richard Nixon’s reign and was attributed to the waning expenditure on the Vietnam conflict. Currently, it is unclear which factors are responsible for the slow growth as well as the falling spending by regimes at the central and local level in the sense that a number of dynamics govern economic growth. Government policies play a prominent role. However, sometimes growth rate can also be attributed to luck of the incumbent regarding the state of the economy when he inherited reigns of power. The current administration took power at the time when the recession was ending. However, the recovery and growth has been remarkably sluggish. The reasons for slow economic growth, which has led to low spending by government under the prevailing regime that ranks lowest in history, have been myriad. The failure to step up government spending emanated from the feeble private sector, which made it difficult for the economy to expand at a high speed (Norris B2). The growth of the private sector is a noteworthy gauge of the circumstances of the economy because it denotes the growth rate of the economy. Changes in spending by the government are because of the expenditure on military disbursement, which has grown dismally in the past few years irrespective of the fall in expenses of Afghanistan as well as Iraq conflicts. On the other hand, nonmilitary outlay has witnessed an upward trend under the prevailing administration. In situations when economy is weak, outlay on investment by central and area governments often fall (through cutbacks) to reflect the state of the economy. Such expenditures include highways and educational institutions like schools and colleges. In essence, falling operating outlays are not new to the US economy and have been part of the country particularly in times of economic difficulty. Therefore, money saving schemes like retrenchment of tutors has not prevailed in the recent past although the number of workers in education has been low. In conclusion, the federal, state, and local governments have been shrinking in the last three years, and this means that the US

Sectionalism Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Sectionalism - Essay Example They had plantations. These were large family farms that produced tobacco and cotton that relied on cheap labor in the form of slaves which was actually intensified as economic sectionalism grew stronger as well. Both North and South sections tried to have representatives in Congress for them to have the power to pass laws that would benefit their sections. Both wanted to have equal States rights and reasonable government tax on imports or exports. The West was also a section but was not part of the sectional conflict between North and South. However, the presence of the West aggravated their conflict as both sections fought to control the West. The people then moved westward and settled there, of course with the additional struggles faced with the first Indian settlers. They saw the west as an "open land", a free land where new opportunities awaited. As more people moved into the west, they realized how potential the land was which then showed the American development. The presence of fertile soil and flat lands attracted the farmers to Great Plains. The discovery of gold and animals rushed in miners and hunters. The people started to acknowledge that additional development to the land could provide them with lots of money. The settlers then slowly started to develop the land and made it prosperous that appealed to investors. The complexity of city life eventually became simple as people tried to embrace the new culture and economy of the West. There were traders, ranchers, miners and farmers that eventually boost the West economy. The opening of the West was indeed an avenue where people started to have hope, rights and duties in expanding and owning a free land. The opening of the West slowly neutralized the sectional conflict between the North and the South. Slavery, one of the four main issues starts to find its voice and freedom. Slavery was believed to be a sectional trait and since the west did not acknowledge this, slaves were not anymore half-free nor half-slave. They can also enjoy what a free man can. No racial discrimination. Black Americans can as well live and work freely with white Americans. Representation, second issue, the North and South as mentioned above seek representatives that will speak on their behalf and propose laws that will benefit their own sections. This is not the case with the West, as people continue to possess economic power, political power arises as well. As new settlers realized their independency in trading, managing and controlling of their new lands, it was also the beginning of intolerance to the government, the individualism of the people. We are to see here that economic opportunities slowly closed the gap caused by sectionalism; however, it also opened to individualism. Individualism in America has allowed a laxity in regard to governmental affairs which has rendered possible the spoils system and all the manifest evils that follow from the lack of a highly developed civic spirit (Turner). An individualism which made the government out of its function due to the immense success of the West economy that encouraged the people to rule the land expecting limited participation from the government. The individualism made them neglectful on their duties and responsibilities as citizens of America. Looking closely to it, the individualism of the West is as worse as sectionalism. Sectionalism only thinks of its own section while individualism only thinks

Issues in global economy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words - 1

Issues in global economy - Essay Example . Doctrine of invisible hand as also reflected in the thought of Adam smith mainly talked about the power of market economy over the state governing economy. He spoke about market mechanism that ultimately leads to the equilibrium. Any gap between demand and supply will be automatically adjusted through the mechanism of market. The role of government here is nothing but to facilitate the process.   Breaking of Soviet Union in the 20th century strengthens this thought of ‘power of market over state’. This thought was the founding stone of today’s globalization and global economy. However the economists and the historian thought that there are many factors those facilitated the process of globalization. According to them, in 19th and 20th century many countries across the world faced the European imperialism that first makes them known about the world economy. Besides this the period saw a rapid development of sophisticated technologies that was never seen before. Rising of machine gradually cleared the new methods of reaping more profit. All this factors was seeking a process through which they could merge for functioning global economics, trade and politics. The stage was prepared for processing of the global issues through the hand of the ‘process of globalization’. With respect to recent period there emerge some more aspects that control and assist the globalization process more rapidly. Today the progresses of international trade are mostly dependent on international commercial agreements such as FTTA, CAFTA, NAFTA etc. Such agreements have opened the door to the northern export and give more opportunities to the developing nations. Nowadays the export processing zones operate as productive vicinities for overseas ventures, investments and employments. These zones are playing their role in many ways to support the economies by

Many organizations spent a specific amount of money on advertising and promotion items other than the consumed items or services which could include third party in the advertising or interest groups with targets of controlling the market trends towards their benefits. According to a study by Booz Company, thanks to the bold steps taken to promote innovation and efficient management of more aggressive cost on the basis of the success of new strategies, media organizations may be able to prepare a better future. There are two major powers reducing the profits of the print media. The first is the continuous change in the areas of expenditure which marketers focus away from the paid advertisements in favor of other priorities advertisements from outside the budget, what would be a major amount of marketing expenditures when the economy recovers. The second orientation, which toppled the long-term profitability of publications, it is the birth of digital media. Literature Review Literature Strategy In the study, there are some important concepts to put in concern with all the other principles of the advertising researches, these concepts are related to the literature review of the Print Press. Starting from the first step of planning to plan for the study, then starting to plan the research and beginning to collect information for the study, all these steps and phases required for the literature caring and planning. The study of effects of advertising on the revenues of the print press industry is involving with all the strategic decisions and marketing plans for the most benefits of the advertising. This study will be more effective with help of the marketing researches and activities too. Only the start which is considered a critical phase to decide the segment of customer who the message from the advertisements are going to be focused on, and the researches will indicate the effects of the advertising as whole on the print press and all types of media. Generally, it could be relatively related to few of the newspapers which have revenues under certain amount of money, and use the responsible departments for performing these researches to increase the income for the newspapers. However, a variety of elements and factors are affecting the size of advertisements in a newspaper than another. Among some studies and researches, we have to introduce some unique services and products in order to attract the consumers and readers to purchase the products or use the service that will increase the size of advertising and the benefits for the newspaper from these advertisements. So, the strategy for literature marketing researches must be aware of most of the factors for the market forces, and the other effective elements for perfect planning and introducing the best plan of advertising revenues. The availability of marketing solutions to enable the media to focus on the broader marketing budget, with a bigger share of the budget information paid. And provides research networks and paid advertising is an effective way at the level of cost for marketers to guide the public about their methods of electronic marketing of certain goods. The building offers a wider range of solutions for marketers an opportunity for media organizations to compete more according to their own laws with research networks and advertising. They can strengthen the relationship with the more committed audience, and thus to get deeper information for the conduct of the consumer, and enhance their level of development of the content up to consumers and serve their interests. The publishers also have the opportunity to attract spending marketed through paid advertisements in the media to help marketers build their brands, through marketing solutions that help marketers build and electronic means for the mar keting of certain goods of their own. Advertising Industry In the advertising industry, all the managements of the print press are working together so that they can manage a strong strategy for the increase of the size of advertisements in the newspaper, the design of the advertising and the contents of the advertising are going to be determined by a shared members of both sides the newspapers and the producers. Customers trends are changing and the advertising message should meet these changes and encourage the customers to head towards these products or services in order to encourage the producer to advertise again and again. The actions by customers towards specific advertising are going to determine the ability to make the advertising again or stop it and change to another media, besides the message contents and the products brands or the services quality all these elements are going to affect the size of advertisements in a newspaper. Advertisers need to advertise their products and services to others to establish relations of reciprocity, mutual interests, and mutual benefit, the form and manner that is consistent with the nature of the times, and by relying on a Bellman, who was dispatched from the rulers of the kings and princes, who was wandering around the market brings people around the drum to tell them his message, and resorted to this activity class referees calls that have been used to deliver orders and decisions to the masses and to determine their approach to the authorities in order to achieve the Governor demands of them, the traders hire roaming the streets calling for advertisers on the arrival of ships and goods. Within the tenth century AD became advocates widespread phenomenon in many European cities. These traders were hired to guide customers to their stores and give them an idea of the prices of goods and the store, as well as trade and economic activity back on the market, which was working hard as he could to attract people to his merchandise and tell them their advantages and disadvantages, and hide the stock extent possible so that people deny it, that is publicity in the beginning took the form of oral audio. In the view of most historians that the external signs on the shops are the first forms of advertising, he has used the Babylonians, who lived in what is now Iraq for signs of such propaganda to their stores since 3000 BC. Advertising Plan The main strategy for advertising is the strong marketing plan for the print press organization or the newspapers and magazines. With a strong marketing position and good marketing team, the newspaper will be able to attract many advertisers in order to put their advertisements in the newspaper. The current researches are targeting the description of the advertising method or the advertising plan, but the deep looking here is about advertising campaign which will lead to excellent revenues for the producers and the newspaper. Starting with this point, the current researches aim to contribute a descriptive study of the situation of the print press sector, by describing the advertising portfolio of each of the firms in the sector, and looking at the changes the companies have made in recent years. Thus, these researches are adopting the product image as its unit of analysis from which to analyse the sectors situation and the trends in its evolution. Integrated advertising plan is the key to success and should include market research, customer groups that targeted by competition, positioning, product or service they sell, pricing, and marketing. Begin advertising and planning, advertising effective current information about the market. Study the ads of other projects in community, and consult with any professional associations related, help us with this interactive tool to assess the strengths and weak advertising. Pricing Strategy It is most important factor affecting the advertising size in a newspaper, when they set the pricing for advertisements they must be careful and consider the market with competition and set the acceptable range of prices which will be accepted by the advertiser. The strategy for pricing the advertising products and services depend on different segments and channels for the evaluation of the changes in the market. These changes might need to be affecting the prices and also gain more segments form the market. The prices are very effective in advertising and the size of advertising in the print press, the changes in the market will lead to changes in the organization strategy and pricing strategy to be more flexible in order to meet the needs of both customers and producers. When the producer is known with all the prices of the market, he will be considered with the size of the advertising and the content of the message he want to deliver to customers, it will indicate the ability to take the advertising or delay the advertising for another time. The researches distinguished between different pricing strategies, such as high promoter and low promoter organizations, without relying on product differentiation considerations. A segmented switcher perspective enables us to resolve some varied results found in previous models. There is one way available to the printed media in order to cope with their own business models for success in marketing the new digital environment, and through four strategies as a minimum: Deepen relations with readers on the target areas of concern. Focus on the flow of revenue outside the framework of marketing and trading. Redesign of the content delivery model (with a special focus on reducing costs) and the emphasis on content-profit article written for the unique and reflect the brand. Innovation of new products and pricing models. Marketers are aware that the leading force in the launch of digital media to communicate with consumers. And spend the companies that offer e-marketing offers for certain goods such as blogs and mobile applications more money on these offers, compared with other digital ads. And often are designed electronic means marketing of certain goods to attract registered users. The media printed a special relationship with its readers who trust the content of publications and appreciate its credibility. The sites of high-quality e-enable the printed media to develop a close relationship with its readers: consumers become more committed and willing to recording and exchange of personal data for the meeting offers for them. The challenge of media organizations on how to increase offers new content and consumer-oriented, without the added costs beyond to create content and difficulty of operational income scalability that can be achieved. I tried some media organizations to enhance the value of online advertising for the brand by directing them towards the target groups of the public. In the coming years, there will production for the majority of revenue in the digital media for advertising and sponsorship. However, the increase of income by the name of the registered user may play a vital role in creating flows of income and achieve an overall growth of vinegar faster. And media organizations can continue to pursue these sources of revenue in the digital arena with the recognition that there are limitations to the size of the public who can attract in the case imposed a tariff on content to consumers. Research Methodology Advertising researches are special type of studies which are specialized form of marketing researches; they aim to improve the efficiency of the advertising according to the market trends. These researches are focusing on a specific advertisements or campaigns, or may be directed at a more general understanding of how advertising works or how consumers use the information in advertising. There are different types of advertising researches, such as customized advertising and syndicated advertising; the first one is conducted for specific clients to address the client needs. The second type of researches is single research study conducted by a research company with its results available, for sale, to multiple companies. Before the advertising researches, the media used for advertising such as radio, TV, print, outdoor billboards, or Internet, these methods would apply to gather the required information for testing the benefits of the advertising before starting advertise. The focus is on what the advertising will do for the product or the service and the increase of revenues from advertising for the print press. In our research about the advertising and its effects for the print press industry, we are going to follow several methods of data gathering and analyzing, all the information related to the advertising and the print press industry, which will lead us to the desired results and approaches form the study. The essential facts her are that we have an important role for the advertising to refresh the market and increase the sales for specific products or services, the size of the advertising is effective element for the revenues of the print press for these advertising. There are many different ways to perform the advertising researches, most the organizations are using one or more of the several basics of the advertising researches or methods of advertising, such as: Surveysà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ With questionnaires and concise, we can analyses the groups that represent the target area in the market. When increasing the size of the sample of questionnaire, the results of the questionnaire will be dependable. The surveys are working very fine for the researches and studies, which make it a powerful tool in the advertising methodology. Focus Groupà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ It is a moderated method using the scripted series of questions or topics which lead to discussing among a group of people. It is usually lasts one or two hours and it takes at least three groups to get balanced results. Personal Interviewsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ Similar to the focus group, but include the unstructured questions, and usually last for about an hour. Its a valuable insight to customers attitudes and excellent way to uncover the issues related to advertising and new products or services development. Observation à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ The individual response to surveys and focus groups are sometimes at the actual behavior of customers everywhere. We observe the actions and reactions by several methods to give more accurate picture of customers usage habits and shopping patterns. Questionnaire Successful newspapers measure the profitability of their advertising, territories, customer groups, and segments. This information helps management determine whether any products or advertising activities should be expanded, reduced, or eliminated. The first step in marketing-profitability analysis is to identify the functional expenses such as advertising and delivery, incurred for each activity. Next, the newspapers measure how much functional expense was associated with advertising through the advertising campaign. Third, the newspapers prepare a profit-and-loss statement for each type of advertising. Print Press and Media organizations can follow the tracks consumer shift focus to new flows of income resulting from the readers rather than to produce for marketers. But these challenges even greater, readers pay to meet the content difficult to find elsewhere, and which is difficult to imitate or copy. It has bypassed some of the publications of consumer reluctance of consumers through the development of credibility by a unique research cannot be found elsewhere on the Internet. The media organizations also find new ways to configure a particular brand as centers addressed by the community or data, and impose the cost of meeting additional benefits save people time and contribute to building their networks and social identity. Questionnaire is one of the cheapest ways to collect data on a particular topic by a very large segment of people and through this data, you can do an analytical study on that subject. It is important to know that the effort to get the strong design of the questionnaire questions on the place and the size and shape to take it out inevitably give data that could be utilized to make a particular decision on the subject to be studied. It is important to develop a questionnaire to the definition of phases, beginning with the things that will be tested and ends extraction results. Each stage must be designed very carefully because the final result depends on the interdependence of all stages, although that way all the data through the questionnaire is the cheapest way, but it can be expensive in terms of design and the extraction results. Questionnaire Factors: Determine the targets of the questionnaire. Written questionnaire. Surely we will not get required results if there is no clear goal and a specific work of the questionnaire, the more difficult goal or purpose is not clear where a waste of time participants and wasting the resources of the owners of that questionnaire. For example: Suppose that there is a program for computer and there is a problem in use by multiple users and resolve this problem have been identified target, (identify points of dissatisfaction with the user interface program and how it affects negatively on its performance). We might think that this really is the goal, but in fact not the case. The duty of the questionnaire designed to determine precisely what is meant by non-user satisfaction Is it to learn the program or in the strength and performance of the program or the difficulty of learning the program and whether it is important to the user quickly learn the program, also must determine what is meant by performance the program. The questionnaire is designed to clear, we must be very careful in defining the target and floating to general things might be understood in several aims, objectives and summary of the tower will, if we find it difficult to write a questionnaire, remember that we did not take sufficient time in defining the objectives of the questionnaire. Questionnaire: Name: Age: Nationality: Income: Job Title: Address: Favorite Newspaper: Magazines: Reading times: Purchasing: Attractive Ads: Interests in Ads: Important Ads: The advertising questionnaire is not easy to start, but with random groups in the society, we got some results to help us evaluating the importance of ads for people, these results could be summarized as: 95% of readers are not looking for advertising. 70% are interested in advertising. 40% are actual customers for advertising products and services. 90% are attracted to the colors and design of advertising. 30% are attracted by the contents. Analyzing and Interpretation of Data The results of advertising are not encouraging for the advertising itself, but the importance of advertising is deniable for all organizations, no one will know about any organization or services without advertising or announcing, from here we find the importance of advertising itself. Only the print press advertising became very shortly used and sometimes not effective for the investors. For the Print Press newspapers and magazines it is a very important source of income, and in the UAE market there more than one newspaper based on advertising, which make this industry very profitable and include a high range of income for the newspaper or the magazine. A recession can take place lasting change in the environment and the media, with the emergence of increasing pressure on newspapers and magazines. Decreased in the total advertising revenue in the year 2008, was recorded in newspapers, magazines and consumer publications for institutions of a decline in print ads more than two to three times. According to a study by Booz Company, thanks to the bold steps taken to promote innovation and efficient management of more aggressive cost on the basis of the success of new strategies, media organizations may be able to prepare a better future. Advertising agencies is administered by the advertising expenditure for the big advertisers usually. So, form a strategic relationship between advertising agencies and print media, such as TV channels, is considered a sine qua non of any means but this does not prevent the TV channel to organize visits to some identifiable potential advertisers to introduce them to the canal and nature of the audience and that does not hold any advertising agreements only with the advertiser through the ad agency, and can be made of those visits in coordination with the agencys ad spender do not forget that there are some spenders who want to deal with the advertising means directly, and these could be targeted through the channel directly. With the global crisis had entered a tunnel to free press, the crisis and closed dozens of them in Europe with fierce competition and rising costs for distribution of homes and declining advertising revenue, with The New York Times report to fall by more than one-third in the early months of 2009, compared to last year, prompting the majority of these newspapers to reduce the number of employees is clearly to control costs and balance of income and some of which is to ensure the superiority and control through their monopoly contracts to ensure the distribution of the newspaper not to compete in some public areas, for example, newspaper Metro which has a monopoly of distribution in the subway in London, which gives it a significant advantage to advertisers and reached the monopoly as a result of a contract signed with the supervisor of the subway, and the paper fears losing its monopoly contract with the end of next year, and newspapers seeking competition to get the deal attractive and profitable, which means that free newspapers are paid to monopolize the distribution in some important sites of density of human permanent, a type of expenses and costs it cannot support a free press, but with large advertising revenue and has from the outset as a strong entity in the market transactions. Does not deny that major news organizations in the world seeks through information services, the broad sense to make more of the extra revenue and complementary services, particularly the print press is not a printer of books and information services and press services for the sale of diverse press kit for the participants, diversity and excellence, credibility and depth, which newspapers offer European and American major, and was provided by the expansion of the Al-Ahram Arabic press in prior years ago. With the Internet age, the e-press services and other value-driven can become an important income for publishers releases provided they need Internet browser with high quality and very distinguished and diverse specialization in the form of news is interesting and attractive.
